Travelling In The Footsteps Of Marco Polo.

Gondoliero.

Yesterday the climax of carnival was reached. I am sure in Venice the festivities were very colorful.

Also yesterday, I had a chance to watch a great documentary about one of the most famous sons of Venice: Marco Polo.

The very involved travel writer Bradley Mayhew:  http://bradleymayhew.blogspot.de/ travelled the Silk Road,

all the way from Venice, Italy to Shangdu, China.

His guide was the book,“ II Milione.“ which describes Marco´s journey.

The movie is a very detailed source for all people who love to travel and for those, who know people from those regions.

It made me very curious about this area and helped me to understand my friends coming from the Middle East and China more.

For people who understand German, this movie is available in 5 parts on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_1f9p14ieI

Enjoy!
